DOC Was ICY ROCK, lets keep his Love for Skating alive.

Man it hurts to hear about Doc-Roc (Founder of The ICY ROCK Skate Team)
I still can't believe it, one day um Rollin with his team the next day um calling my team sayin Doc is gone. He said goodbye to me when he was leaving for A.T.L. Saying he was going down there to work and would be back once a month to Roll with us. I didn't know that would be the last time I would talk to him, shake his hand and give him a hug. I have pic's of him and his team that I will be posting on westsiderollers.com on a Memorial page for us to remember and reflect. He was a man you could not ignore and full of energy and love for skating. He Loved to just get his Roll On!! And thats what he did to the fullest no matter what. DAMN um gonna miss him leading his team around Butler Skateland on Sunday Nights, shaken-a leg and Stompin on the Wall, and then goin to the center circle and Spinnin on his head.

As I get ready to hit the Rink this sunday me and some of my team members will be wearing ICY ROCK SHIRTS to show Love and Respect to a friend and fellow skater who has made and impact on the Skateworld with his unique style, outspokeness and energy. This is a very important time for the skate world, being on the verge of coming out of the underground and into the mainstream. As this happens we have had fallen soldiers who have struggled and help pave the way. Doc was special and has made a permanent imprint in my mind, whenever when I hear someone say I Love to Skate I will see his face and feel his energy.
Peace, Love and respect to Doc-Rock, Um gonna miss you Bro.

T-from The Westside......
 ICY-ROCK STAY STRONG FOREVER.

He and I have been friends and skate partners for over 25

Hey West Side Rollers,
I just want to send my condolences out to Docs family.  I heard the news so late, I wasnt able to express at the funeral what he ment to me.  He was my brother, my friend, and my teacher.  You are truely missed.  There are so many questions that go on in my head, about how that night came about.  But I must trust in God to know that is was your time.  You will live on in my heart and my soul, you will continue to grow in many other hearts as we carry on the name of ICY ROCK!  All will know of you.  So watched down on us all, as you skate your way into heaven with your pearly wheels.
I am blessed to have know you, but as you said our "soul" will cross again "mate".  ... so until then .....see you later, and much love.
Sincerly,
Keisha (aka - Ke  Ke )

Hey Terrance,
I knew DOC ROCK way back in the day. From talent shows and skating at Zion Rink. He was just as full of energy then as he was before he passed.
He put his heart and soul into skating.
Rather he was on the floor getting his roll on or cheering from the side line, you could always expect to see and hear his excitment. He will be greatly missed.
On behalf of all of Icy Rock thanks for all your love, support & dedication.
Doc would have appreciated it.
Keep Praying For One Another.
Ms. Alisha

This is T. Byrd, Doc’s big brother. My mother and I
wanted to thank all of those that showed up to the
viewing, and for those that were unable to make it I
wanted to thank you as well for your prayers and
condolences.
This was a HUGH shock to us, and I’m sure for everyone
else as well. The amount of people that came in for
the viewing was overwhelming and it was great to see
the many lives Doc has touch throughout his life. I’m
sorry if I was unable to meet everyone, but at the
moment it was hard to focus on anything other then the
passing of my brother. Of course I’m upset he left us
this early and I’m sure most of us our but I’m a true
believer in “Things happen for a reason” and I am sure
this is his way of sending a message out to others.
So keep Doc in your heart, cherish the moments you had
with him, and know that he is always smiling down on
us.
Again, thanks for everything.
ONE LOVE DOC!
        Terry Byrd (T.Byrd)
